Tensions between Iran and the United States have risen again over the chase of a US ship in the Persian Gulf. The incident happened on Tuesday (June 21).
The Washington Post reports that the US Navy has accused Tehran of pursuing US ships. They claim that a US-flagged ship in the Strait of Hormuz unexpectedly crashed into Sirocco, a speeding vessel of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
Two other Iranian ships were stationed nearby at the time. At the same time, warning shots were fired from US ships.
The United States has called Iran's behavior "dangerous and unprofessional." Tensions flared again between the two countries amid a heated debate over the nuclear deal. However, Tehran has not yet commented on the incident.
