The four regional institutions are the Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific (SIAP), the Asian and Pacific Training Center for Information and Communication Technology for Development (APCIANT), and the Center for Science and Technology. Development of Disaster Information Management (APDIM).

Bangladesh has been a member of the Board of Directors of four regional institutions of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNSCAP) in Bangkok and Thailand.

Apart from India, Bangladesh is the only country to have been elected to the board of directors of all the four UNSCAP regional institutions.

The election was held on the sidelines of the 7th UNSCAP Commission session on Thursday (May 26) local time. Such information has been given in a press release from Bangladesh Embassy in Thailand. Bangladesh will fulfill this responsibility from 2022 to 2025.
