The UK's Minister of Armed Forces has stated that "no agreement" has been reached between France and the UK regarding a proposed one-month truce in Ukraine. In response to a question about the plan, which French President Macron mentioned in a newspaper on Sunday, Luke Pollard told BBC Breakfast, "That's not a plan we currently recognize." He added that "several different options" are being discussed privately.

Pollard emphasized the importance of developing a plan to achieve lasting peace "as soon as possible." He also mentioned that the US is "a key ally" and will "have the UK's back," highlighting the strong defense relationship between the two countries.

This statement follows a recent summit, the UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer held with European leaders to discuss peace efforts in Ukraine. It comes just two days after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's significant visit to Washington, D.C.
